We are excited to announce that we are now serving in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania! Partnering with Productive Lives and Cornerstone Community Church, two ministries already well-established in that area, we will focus our work in two sections of the city, namely, Kensington and South Philly. Cam Garven, head of Productive Lives and long-time volunteer and mission leader of World Servants, has been serving in Kensington with his church and family for many years. He, along with Joe Darrow and Andy Schultz, who have been pastors for more than 20 years, will be our community leaders. Opportunities abound for rehabbing homes/outreach buildings, food distribution, and outreaches to the neighborhood. Our hope is to mobilize teams that desire to serve people in need.
The intention of World Servants is to bring a “hand up” and a message of hope. Needs in the community can range from leaking roofs, homes needing insulation, and families struggling to provide the basic necessities, as the majority of the population lives below the poverty line.
WHAT WE'RE DOING
MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES
Teams will learn about and come alongside the community to improve living conditions, opening doors to share Jesus and help provide basic needs like food. The majority of the mission week or weekend will be spent on building renovations for ministry and outreach purposes. Projects can include demo, constructing a wheel chair ramp, building a deck, painting, general clean up around the properties, and installing vinyl siding, windows and doors.
Team members will participate in several outreach events, which offer opportunities to interact with the community and build relationships. Groups will spend time doing Block Parties, outreach for children in the local parks, helping in the food pantry, or whatever the community leadership team decides.

IS IT SAFE?
TRIP SAFETY PROTOCOLS
Trip safety is extremely important to World Servants and our host community. The community we are working and staying in is considered very safe and we do not anticipate any safety issues.

COVID-19 Safety Response
We are working diligently to address the directives of the communities we serve in regard to the coronavirus (COVID-19). Be assured, World Servants will not hesitate to cancel or suspend a trip if appropriate.
While World Servants does not require participants to be vaccinated, some countries in which we serve may require proof of vaccination and/or a negative COVID test in order to gain entry into the country. World Servants will work with you and your team to make sure you are aware of any travel requirements prior to trip onset.
